Bubbles slept in a crib in his master's bedroom, was fed at the dining table, ate candy in the Neverland movie theater, wore a diaper, and used Michael's toilet. At Michael's 2005 trial, he said that his chimpanzees helped with housekeeping chores. After a few years, Bubbles was moved to the trainer's California animal compound because he grew very strong to be around people. There were concerns that Michael's pet chimp Bubbles may be a danger to Jackson's newborn son, Prince II, then. Then 2 other chimps were adopted, Action and Max, which the public thought was Bubbles. One went to a Kansas breeding facility, and the other is now in a Korean zoo.

Michael died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50. He passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. Speaking to the News of the World, Dunn said that Bubbles definitely missed [Jackson] when they parted and would miss him now. He added chimpanzees are intelligent, and they remember people and stuff. Dunn said that Bubbles and Michael were close friends and playmates and the last time Michael visited, Bubbles definitely recognized and remembered him.
